Lower Cove

1st Corner Buttress

Liquid Gold                                      E3 5c **

A bold variation of Watersign, climbing the same start and crux. Start up the flake/corner to gain the ledge. Step up to the first break and gain the second (crux). After the delicate and balancy crux move make a bold traverse right rising through the stepped breaks towards a projecting horizontal flake (a crucial purple camalot can be found at the end of the traverse in a notch in the break). Climb up past the flake and steep juggy breaks above with the best sticky black granite to the top (small cams useful).

Not a bad little route let down by the ability to step out right and rest on the grassy ledge.

Start at base of the blunt arête. Climb the wall right of arête moving between breaks towards the obvious flake, continue straight up above flake.
